Scott comes to Mid-Atlantic Financial Partners from a 35 year career in commercial and corporate lending. During this time Scott has gained considerable insight to the needs of business borrowers both large and
small and their unique requirements when approaching the opportunity to finance their businesses. Well versed across a wide expanse of industries and their individual characteristics, Scott brings to the table experiences that aid the prospective borrower in finding the right commercial loan structure for them.
A native Marylander, Scott has been active over the years in serving on many boards of directors for foundations and charities throughout Maryland. He also raises money for charitable causes by acting as an auctioneer at galas and fundraising events. He believes the best way to support your community is by
investing your time and energies in making the community a better place to live.
Chad Smith

Chad Smith has 30 plus years of solid banking experience with an emphasis on commercial loan documentation, participation processing and loan servicing.
Mr. Smith started his career in 1991 with a community bank in McLean Virginia as a loan documentation specialist. In 1998 he moved into loan servicing, managing all aspects of commercial, residential and consumer documentation, processing and servicing functions. In 2001 he was hired by a local community bank in Germantown, MD as their Commercial Loan Administration Manager in order to implement policy and procedures for their newly formed commercial servicing and documentation department. Within a few years he was offered the residential and consumer loan servicing functions as well.
Christopher Pavkovich, MBA

Christopher Pavkovich, MBA has 20+ years in the financing and banking industry. His experiences include: mortgage origination, senior financial and credit analysis for top tier customers of a publicly traded multi-billion technology distribution company, portfolio manager and underwriter for national syndicated credits, small business underwriting and regional credit officer responsible for Georgia and Northern Florida.
During his tenure in various duties, Christopher has had the opportunity to be key in the development of a credit risk scoring model for accounts receivables management and be the primary contact and content expert for a bank’s pricing model.
Christopher earned a Bachelors of Science in Biology and a Bachelors of Science in General Science from Geneva College and earned his MBA with a concentration in Finance and graduating with honors from NYIT. He is a member of Delta Mu Delta and formerly held the Series 7 and 63 licenses.
Dan Kovac

Having over 30 years of banking experience, and with over 20 years in commercial lending. Mr. Kovac is well-versed in the credit decision process. Having spent his career working in two large local community banks in Montgomery County, MD and another in Loudoun County, VA, he understands the challenges and opportunities presented in the Washington Metropolitan Marketplace.
Mr. Kovac is always looking for ways to say “Yes” to a credit all the while maintaining a conservative philosophy and working within the framework of current policy and regulations. He has experience in all types of lending including: residential and commercial investment real estate; residential and commercial construction; asset-based lines of credit; other specialty lending; and SBA 7(a), Express, and 504(b) loans.
Mr. Kovac graduated with a B.S. degree in General Business Administration from the University of Maryland, and later attended Maryland Banking School where he graduated with honors. He served as treasurer of his HOA for 11 years, and is an active member within his church.
Sue Grant

Susan has several years of commercial banking experience. Her prior experience has been in Deposit Operations with a focus on the Bank Secrecy Act. Susan has been with MAFP since 2019 processing loan payments, booking loans and collecting documents to keep loan files up-to-date. She is also in charge of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
